The Healing Aspects of Home Funerals and Eco Body Disposition Options

On September 21, 2023, at 7-8 pm CT, NACDM will host a free Zoom Call with Jennifer O'Connell, Certified Death Midwife and End-of-Life Educator. Jennifer offers a four-part series called Befriending Death, a Holistic Approach covering the Physical (Earth), Spiritual (fire), Emotional (water) and Intellectual (air) aspects of death. In the session, Jennifer will walk us through the first of the series, including preparing for death and the role of the death midwife, the history of the funeral industry, the healing aspects of home funerals, and eco body disposition options.

Jennifer O’Connell is the founder of Crossing Threshold. Her earthly assignment as a Death Midwife and End of Life Educator was unveiled in 2017. Jennifer is called to the bedside of the dying and their families. She is a member of the National Home Funeral Alliance and a student/teacher of the sacred arts of death and dying. She serves as an 11th hour hospice volunteer and has successfully completed two Death Midwifery Certification Programs, one with Earth Traditions and one with Sacred Crossings. The latter, known as The Art of Death Midwifery, is a comprehensive training for professional end-of-life caregivers including spiritual practice, preparation for a conscious peaceful transition, after-death care, and home funerals.
